  • Before working together:

You will complete a detailed intake form to provide a framework for our first 90 minute session. I find that both the process of your writing out the details of your climbing and my having this information in hand before the call make better use of everyone’s time. The more thought you put into this form the better!

    During our first session:

We will discuss your climbing & training history, mental & physical limitations, self-assessment of strengths & weaknesses (physical, mental, tactical), lifestyle, available time and motivation for climbing & training, access to climbing & training facilities as well as long & short-term climbing goals. I will offer you a general assessment of what areas of your climbing I reccommend you focus on to move toward your goals.

    Following our first session:

Depending on the service you choose, you will receive your first month’s training plan within a week (for training clients) and/ or will be assigned “homework” in various forms (for coaching clients).

One-on-one coaching can occur online, in person or a combination of the two depending on your location.

  • Message me via the ‘contact me’ button (found at the bottom of every page on this site). You will receive a link to schedule an intake or coaching session with me. If you do not see a time that works for you on my calendar it is likely we can find a time that works for both of us, just shoot me a message.

  • For best results:

    • Weight room (with bands, dumbells, barbells, pull up bar, TRX style suspension system)

    • Hangboard and/or tension block ( a Tindeq progressor is superb)

    • Indoor bouldering and/or board (tension board, kilter board, spray wall).

    • Roped climbing is great particularly if you wish to work on work route climbing tactics and strength.

    • Mobility tools: foam roller, squash ball, a muscle scraping tool (Wave Tool or just a plastic chinese spoon)

    • We can modify plans to work with whatever facilities and equipment you have available, however less ideal.

  • Intake & coaching sessions typically occur online but can be arranged in person in Squamish upon request.

Training plans are delivered online and include detailed descriptions and video’s of the exercises and drills.

At this moment I do not offer in-person coaching in Squamish climbing gyms due to the gyms insurance restrictions.

  • Your training program will be designed based on your available time to train. Many folks climb and train approximately 4-8 hours per week, some less, some more. We can devise a plan that works with the time you have.

  • As climbers, we should view training not as a shortcut to rapid improvement but as a crucial path towards sustained progress. Prioritizing the long-term development of our climbing skills is paramount, and that's why I prefer to engage with climbers in an ongoing manner.

  • There is a fine balance between actively working through injuries and deloading. That said, from my experience most injuries require some form of active rehab. If you are currently injured, I would recommend you see a physiotherapist with experience in climbing mechanics and climbing injuries. Once you have a diagnosis and specific treatment plan, we can then work together to incorporate your treatment plan into your training. Often injuries provide an opportunity to explore different movement patterns and build other strengths.

  • Every new coaching client begins with the Intake session. You will complete a detailed intake form to provide a framework for our first 90-minute session.

During this intake we can discuss the options available to you.
